Foil Shielding Layer
- Nov 09, 2018 -

A foil shield, usually made of a thin layer of aluminum, is attached to a carrier such as polyester to increase its strength and make it stronger. The metal foil can provide 100% wrapping for the wire and has better shielding performance. But it's also difficult to use because it's thin, especially when it's plugged into a connector. As a result, the entire foil shielding layer is not normally grounded, but is connected to the shielding layer using a spoiler line.
